Comfort and style are of equal importance for Cassey Gan. the garments she creates are timeless yet modern. There is an acute focus on detail and functional design and this is evident through the innovative mix of fabrics and non-form fitting silhouettes. She has a keen sense of sustainability, printing and making in her local community, utilising a combination of natural dyes and fabrics.
Cassey Gan was born in Malaysia before moving to Melbourne, Australia for 4 years to complete a bachelor in Chemical Engineering. It was at this time that she decided to break the mould and persue her radical dream of designing clothes.
Cassey subsequently spent 4 years studying at the London College of Fashion where she graduated in Fashion Design & Technology Womenswear with First Class Honours in 2012. Her graduate collection was 1 of 25 collections selected by the LCF for its external press show. The fashion industry fast picked up on her innovative design and Vogue Italia featured her in their global edition “Discovering fashion’s future generation of talents.”
In 2018, her eponymous AW18 collection combining detachable and printed elements won her a show at the prestigeous London Fashion Scout. With a keen sense of utilising community craftspeople and sustainable fabrics, Cassey Gan is well and truly a designer of the future.
